I have been diagnosed with myopia(nearsightedness) so I have glasses to help me see at a distance but I believe that my vision is worse at night than it is during the day. Even with glasses, I still have a considerable amount of trouble seeing at night. This can make driving at night really nervewracking so I try to limit my nighttime driving. This one time, I almost got into an accident because I had trouble seeing even with my glasses.
www.clearvieweyes.com – 858.452.3937 I have a very severe myopia so without my glasses I am not functional at all. The big thing for me is to be able to just open my eyes in the middle of the night and see my wife sleeping next to me. I have never been able to do that. After the surgery I can actually see the clock and what time it is without having to crawl over the night stand. My vision is really good now. It is what I would call clear natural vision. There are two types of implantable lenses approved by the FDA for vision correction currently Verisyse™ and STAAR Visian. Verisyse Implantable Contact Lenses have been used to treat moderate to severe nearsightedness, also called myopia. The Verisyse lenses are shaped much like regular contact lenses, but they are implanted into the eye between the cornea and iris. When they are in place, they give your eyes another focusing lens to use and provide you with the high-quality vision. The STAAR Visian intraocular lens was the first of its kind to be approved for use in the US The Visian lens is used to treat nearsightedness and is surgically implanted into the eye, but in a different location. The Visian lens is placed behind the iris and in front your natural lens, which is referred to as the posterior chamber of the eye. Once in this position, the Visian lens improves your vision by optimizing the way light enters your eye. Visian lenses are capable of correcting a wide range of myopia or nearsightedness, Its a safe …
Hello. I was diagnosed with myopia (near-sightedness) when I was like 9 years old, and I have worn glasses ever since. I am 22 years old now and my vision has gotten progressively worse as expected, but in these past months it seems like my vision has been getting a lot worse at a much faster rate. Everything past a foot is a complete blur. I have to literally be like a foot away from the computer monitor in order to read the text. There are three things — which I’m about to describe in separate paragraphs below — that are possibly to blame, I just don’t know which one it is exactly and what I can do to fix the problem.
For one, I haven’t gotten a new eyeglass prescription in several years now. Last year I went to the eye doctor and got a prescription for contact lenses, but I rarely wear them, which means I wear my old, outdated glasses almost predominantly the entire day.
Secondly, these old, outdated glasses are broken. I accidently sat on them awhile ago and broke one of the nose rest pads and curved part of of one of the legs. They also got bended to hell, but I did my best to bend them back into shape. The end end result is that they fit on my face, but at an angle because one end is slightly higher than the other. I cannot do anything about it because they’re already on the verge of completely breaking. I have heard that wearing them at an angle is harmful and it strains your vision.
Lastly, in the past months I have been more stressed than usual and I’ve been spending a lot of time on the computer. By a lot of time, I mean almost half-a-day every day (with breaks in between ofcourse). When I’m on the computer at night, my eyes almost always hurt and my vision gets blurry, so I have to massage them constantly. It feels like they are having a hard time focusing.
What do you believe is going on with my eyes? Is it a correctable problem, is it just that my eyes are strained, or is my vision permanently messed up? i know I have been neglectful to my eyes but these past months have not been very good for me and I’m trying to get myself back in order, including my health. I cannot help but think that if I were ever in some kind of emergency, I would be at a severe disadvantage because of my poor eyesight and dire dependance on eyeglasses.
